Albion Falls in Autumn is probably the best time to photography one of the prettiest falls in the area. Hamilton Ontario is home to 100 waterfalls and cascades and known as the “City of Waterfalls“.
Albion Falls puts on one of its best shows in autumn, when the surrounding forest turns gold, amber, and rust around the waterfall’s multi-tiered cascade. This composition leans into that seasonal colour, using a tree in the foreground to frame the falls and add depth to the scene.
Albion Falls is one of the city’s most recognized and photogenic natural landmarks. With its multi-tiered, curtain-like structure and steady flow throughout the year, it offers an excellent subject for landscape photographers in every season.
Albion Falls is located in the Red Hill Valley area of Hamilton. The viewing platform provides a great overlook, but more compelling photos can be taken from lower angles (be mindful of safety and local guidelines when exploring off-trail).
Please note, at the time of this post, there are signs prohibiting you from going down to the base of the falls, where this composition was taken. There maybe alternative hikes coming up the river you could explore but do your own research and use common sense.
