About point three three
So what is point three three? The genesis of that name stems from the rule of thirds, a primary composition principal in photography. Being an engineer, and thinking of it from math terms, 1/3 = .33 … not exactly, but close enough.
Married to an amazing wife for 25+ years and 2 great kids; I’ve been blessed with a lot of luck on this journey.
While point three three is anchored in 25+ years in Fine Art Photography, it really is the confluence of many of Eric’s passions. Some of which include, woodworking, metal work, personal finance, and just about anything that needs to be built, renovated or fixed around the house. The do-it-yourself gene runs very deep.
A couple selected professional milestones:
- 1986 - wins photography excellence award in his HS
- 1993 - graduated with an Electrical Engineering degree. Caught the finance and investing bug.
- 1993-1998 - worked a variety of engineering positions in Automotive Electronics.
- 1998 - Photography passion reignited while on honeymoon in Hawaii with a Nikon F601 and Fuji Velvia slide film..
- 1998 - 2006 - Worked in semiconductors for GPU's and System-on-Chip ASIC's for a couple decades and started traveling around the globe.
- 2006 - 2011 - Many long haul flights continued with work focusing on semiconductors for Smart TV's. Made the digital jump to Nikon DX in 2011.
- 2012 - 2023 - Took a career detour into Cyber Security and Digital Identity. Transitioned to full frame DLSR in 2014.
- 2025 - point three three goes live!
Logging 1M+ airmiles on Air Canada alone, personal and work travels have allowed me to photograph and explore 5 continents and 30+ countries.
point three three will be a work in progress, but hopefully inspires others to pick up a camera, plan that next trip, buy a table saw, do your own plumbing, and strive for financial independence.
