Even if you do not know the name Monument Valley, you have surely seen images of it. It is THE iconic location epitomizing the American Southwest. The three prominent buttes in this landscape are West Mitten Butte, East Mitten Butte, and Merrick Butte, also referred to as the Mittens. I positioned my tripod so that the sunrise would create a starburst effect off of Merrick Butte and leave them as a silhouette. Monument Valley is simply a must-see otherworldly landscape.
