Haleakalā Clouds and Sunset

Haleakalā Clouds and Sunset are an amazing sight to behold! Haleakalā Summit is the highest point on Maui, located within Haleakalā National Park. At an elevation of over 10,000 ft you have a rare opportunity to watch the sun light up the top of the clouds! Weather is very unpredictable on the volcano but if you are lucky, its an unforgettable experience.

If you are there at sunset, you might be treated to an otherworldly view with a carpet of clouds beneath you.

If you venture down a little from the summit, the short hike into the volcano is well worth it to view the amazing red cinder cones of Haleakalā Volcano!

If you in Maui and are interested in the famous Road to Hana and some of its best photo destinations, check out my Road to Hana Blog.

When exploring Maui, one book that I have referenced in the past and can recommend is Maui Revealed.  There is certainly a mountain of info online now, but I still found myself referencing some of the hidden gems found in its pages on my last trip.
