Durdle Door limestone arch in black and white, Dorset, England

Durdle Door

Durdle Door stands out in this black and white long exposure of the Dorset coast. The southern coast of England is wonderful for photography. Durdle Door is a stunning natural limestone arch located near Dorset. The name “Durdle” comes from the Old English word “thirl,” meaning bore or drill, and “Door” refers to the arch’s shape. I opted for a slower shutter speed to add to the sensation of motion.
