Stonehenge at Sunset

Stonehenge

Stonehenge has to be one of the most iconic prehistoric sites in the world. Its instantly recognizable. Likely to prevent further damage, they do not allow you to walk among the stones as you can in Avebury, at least at the time of this photograph. I wanted to take a sunset shot that was a little different than the millions of postcard images. I found myself perched on the edge of the roadway, in a distance off the grounds with cars whizzing inches from my butt, as planted my tripod waiting for sunset. The crazy colours are a result of an amazing sunset amplified by a Blue-Yellow polarizer on a saturated Velvia film.
