Maui Big Beach is a phenomenal golden sand beach that stretches for 2.4km. It was one of Maui’s largest and most beautiful beaches. While you do not get 30ft surf here, the beach is known for powerful shore break which dangerous for inexperienced swimmers. This composition is taken from a drone above and is capturing small waves hitting the shore.
Maui has several locations you can view amazing surf and big waves. Check out Ho’okipa Waves as 10-15ft surf crashed against the lava rock.

When exploring Maui, one book that I have referenced in the past and can recommend is Maui Revealed. There is certainly a mountain of info online now, but I still found myself referencing some of the hidden gems found in its pages on my last trip.
