This snow monkey in a hot spring at Jigokudani soaks up to its shoulders, its face reflected in the water. I first saw these amazing monkeys in National Geographic. Their human like gestures and ambivalence to the proximity of people and cameras make them wonderful subjects to photograph. These snow monkeys of Japan, also known as Japanese macaques were located in Jigokudani Monkey Park, Nagano Prefecture, Japan. They gravitate to these natural hot springs and relax in these steamy waters to the delight of onlookers.
