Kirkjufell, also known as “Church Mountain,” is one of Iceland’s most iconic mountains. Adding to its beauty is the Kirkjufellsfoss Waterfall closeby which you can frame in the foreground as in this composition. I have seen many amazing photos of this location that also included Arora which I was too early in the year for this photo. This composition was timed with Sunset and a slower shutter speed to blur the motion of the waterfall. Fun fact, Kirkjufell was also featured as the “arrowhead mountain” in Game of Thrones.
