Thor’s Hammer is one of the most iconic rock formations in Bryce Canyon National Park, Utah. The hoodoo is named for its resemblance to the mythical hammer wielded by the Norse god. The formation is a towering spire of sandstone, topped with a larger, flat rock that seems precariously balanced. Thor’s Hammer is particularly stunning at sunrise, and lit not just by the warm glow of the early morning sun but the reflected light from the super saturated surrounding red rock.
