Black and White, Dead Tree Death Valley National Park

Dead Tree, Death Valley National Park

Death Valley can be a harsh and inhospitable environment. I have visited the park probably a half dozen times but mostly in the winter season which is actually very comfortable. However, with summer temperatures in the valley stretching past 120degF, most vegetation struggles to survive. This very graphic and stark tree instantly caught my attention as I was scouting locations. I loved its symmetry and how it stood against the barren background.
