The second I had viewed an image of Mont Saint Michel, it was on my bucket list to photograph. It was an amazingly unique piece of architecture which is also a UNESCO World Heritage site. The tidal island is surrounded by vast sandbanks that transform with the ebb and flow of the tides, creating a surreal and ever-changing landscape. Its amazing to witness the force and how fast the tide comes in and surrounds the island. The Abbey itself is a stunning piece of medieval architecture which is perched atop the island and is dedicated to Saint Michael the Archangel. The abbey includes various structures such as the church, cloisters, refectory, and other monastic buildings.
